We love LA’s Eagle Rock neighborhood from its name for the 120 foot rock with an eagle flying within its natural formation to Occidental College where Steinbeck taught and President Obama attended. It inspired us to create our hoodies and sweatshirts.

Eagle Rock EST 1911

There is a rock, a very BIG rock or maybe it is a bolder, no its a rock….and when the sunlight hits it just right, you can see an eagle flying in its natural formation. Hence the name Eagle Rock. While we are not promoting the risk, there are climbing enthusiasts who scale the 120 foot face of the rock and live to tell about it.

Eagle Rock truly has a history in water. Before the designer water craze, Eagle Rock resident Burton N. Arnds Sr. felt that LA’s finest was less than fine so he founded Sparkletts in 1925 and built a magnificent Morrish water bottling plant which still calls this neighborhood its home.
In the 1940’s the hot rod culture found its ride on Colorado Blvd. with legendary clubs like ‘Kadavers’ and the ‘HeadHunters’.
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck wrote ‘Good Will Hunting’ in Ben’s Hill Drive home in Eagle Rock.
‘Grapes of Wrath’ author John Steinbeck called Eagle Rock his home.
Steinbeck also taught Eagle Rock’s Occidental College where President Obama attended from 1978-81.
