• Architecture buff’s dream - stairs that climb through the hills surrounded by Neutras, Schindlers and Lautners including ‘Silvertop’ with its arched roof and wall-to-wall windows. 
• The ‘BOAT’ building (portholes included), on Hyperion has a musical history - first built by Preacher Paul Myers religious radio ministry. Then the Dust Brothers who produced The Beastie Boys and Beck and finally Flea of The Red Hot Chili Peppers who also founded The Silverlake Music Conservatory.
• Maria Rasputin may have been the neighborhood's most “interesting” Silverlake occupants. She was the daughter of Grigori Rasputin, known for his role as a mystical adviser in the court of Czar Nicholas II of Russia.The first Disney Studios was in Silverlake
• Harry Hay’s 1950’s Mattachine Society, one of the nations first gay organizations was founded in Silverlake.
• Literary Artist, Anais Nin, known for her love of young boyfriends and risque diaries called Silverlake her home. She believed that her books should be sold with a dose of LSD. The film ‘Henry & June’ is about an affair she had with Henry Miller and his wife. 
• Television’s ‘The L Word’ , ‘Transparent’ and ‘You’re the Worst’ all call Silverlake their homes. 
• Songs like ‘Scott Street’ by Phoebe Bridgers  and Eleni Mandell’s ‘Silverlake Babies’ celebrate SL life.
